Old Post Office

Notes

Typical of the Romanesque style of architecture common in government buildings of the time, the Post Office was constructed in red sandstone from quarries on the Rideau River, north of Kingston Mills. It was designed by Thomas Fuller, chief architect for the Federal Department of Public Works, and co-designer of the centre block of the Ottawa parliament buildings.
